backwards firing order

1995 nissan hardbody 4x4. i recently purchased this truck, it has a newly rebuilt eng. the problem is the truck wont start when the labeled plug wire potsitions are used acording to the cap firing order 1342 when wires are in properly marked positions on cap the truck wont start reverse them to 4213 the truck starts. whats up?

The oil pump drive shaft is out of time.As long as the ignition timing is correct then its fine.

the oil pump drive is correct. the rotor button is pointing at the 1 position on the cap, with the #1 wire on #1 position on the dist cap the engine will not start switch #4 wire to #1 position on dist cap it starts fine

sounds more like the cam timing is "180 deg" out

maybe problem was made during the rebuild, i have seen jasper engines that where assem'ed wrong.
