Sounds like the switch on the transmission is bad--un plug it and see if your lights go off.

I had this problem and I had two similar harnesses switched, this was on an NX2000, but I'm sure nissan made the same mistake. Look by your transmission plugs and see if there is anouther harness near by that looks the same and plugs in the same.

So lets hide the real problem after a swap, right? What if wiring is hooked up backwards like mine was? You'd rather leave it hooked up backwards? Makes no sence.

Makes more sence than getting a ticket for it if you cant fix it,,,,,,,makes plenty of sence

Well, I'm assuming that aceof07 knew that he could just remove the reverse light bulbs if he wanted them to go off, but he came here for the solution rather than a work around. Just IMHO.

Ok I thought he had to drive the car before he could have time to fix it. He cant drive it like that.

guys fixed the problem, i swear my car is a wiring nightmare! the harness to the transmission was butchered beyond belief but i did some searching and look at the fsm for a while and found out that the idiot who had the car before me removed the top speed limiter and screwed up the harness and did a f'ed up job trying to fix it. i'm glad that i'm leearning more about the car everyday. thanks for all the help.
