way to do this is to remove the battery from the one of the fobs and and remove the key
and carry the key only in my wallet. Think this will be safe????? Thanks for any comments.

I think it is a smart idea.
My 2013 Rogue randomly locks up and doesn't beep or anything to warn you. I had a blank key cut to get in the door in emergencies.RyleyinSTL wrote:You cannot lock your key inside the Rogue (just like any of Nissan's cars equipped with the Smartkey system). The Rogue will prevent the car from locking and beep at you a few times.
Problem solved?
You have a vehicle that's under full warranty. Have you taken it to the dealership to fix the problem?bovoril wrote:Had a backup key made at Canadian Tire (flat metal.) It gets me in the door at least, which is usually the problem as the doors lock randomly!
Yes, I had one cut at Canadian Tire. Works to unlock the drivers door.ImStricken06 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:29 amever just try and have a normal key made in home depot? it wont be chipped - but it will at least open the doors(i think).
