Have any of you installed a backup camera? If so, any advice on best place to mount? Easiest path to run the wires?

I've seen Costco's wireless backup camera and I'm tempted. Here's link.

Since the reverse lights are in the liftgate, it would be easy to install license plate surround one that hard wires into one of the lights, and Bluetooth back to your phone. Those are have been around a while, and quality ones are $50-60.

I am getting a new double DIN stereo that has camera inputs. Planning to wire into that. Just seems that running wire up the liftgate, then getting it back down to the door sill area will be a pain.

I installed COOLINT CT-X102BL camera on my 2002 Pathfinder 4-1/2 years ago. Still working well with excellent night vision. I installed it on my lift gate between the two license plate lights, running the wires inside the lift gate and fished them through the flexible wire boot at the upper left of the lift gate and then along the inside wall panels of the cargo area and down to the floor where I fished it through where all the other wires are that are routed to the rear from the front, and then up and under the dashboard. Yeah, this was a bit of a pain but it was a very clean routing and the camera is very inconspicuous. Amazon.com has several brands that look very much like the Coolint brand I installed. They average in cost of about $25 which is what I paid for mine.

Did you take the lift gate apart?

The inside panel of my lift gate pops off after removing a couple of screws that fasten the inside pull down handle. You can then access the nuts that fasten the piece with the license plate lights to the outside of the lift gate. Yeah, there are few things that need to be taken apart. Quite a few things.
