Backup Camera Question

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anyone noticed that the tint seems off...I'm speaking of greens like trees and grass are brown instead of green (even with the tint adjusted all the way to the left)? Perhaps this is some type of safety feature so the green guidelines don't blend in, or perhaps I have a problem! Interested if others have observed this. Thanks!

I would agree that green is not picked up well - if at all. My grass looks like it's winter time now- even though it's green as can be. Camera does its job though.
I am curious as to why that's the case though.

Thanks! At least I know mine is not defective. Perhaps a safety feature so the guidance lines don't blend away?

Maybe the ability of the camera to see at night comes at the expense of color correctness.

Also on my 2010 EX35, the rear backup camera has CA issues, purple fringing on some objects, this happens on cameras in photography, the better glass (lenses) try to prevent this and usually camera software today.

How many of you have Around View Monitor vs standard backup cameras?

Where is your brightness setting?

Do all of the cameras (on avm) have the same quality issue?

Have any of you messed with the setting in the sub diagnostic menu.

I have the AVM system.

Other than the Sun/Moon Button on the right-side of the Keypad... theres not much else to change.

Steve... where does one find this "Sub-diagnostic Menu"?

I read in a Newspaper Article today, that Sony is the maker of the AVM System.

The Confirmation and Adjustment menu is found by pressing SETTINGS and turning the radio volume knob (radio off).

As far as EXs equipped with AVM I cannot stress enough to make a note of any settings before adjusting anything. There is a very specific procedure for aligning them and unless the camera is replaced the adjustment should not be necessary.

I had no idea, if you have a link I'd like to see. Details of who makes these systems are always sparse and often the exact opposite of whatever I am told or read. I am known across the internet for bad information.

Actually you can adjust color, tint, etc. However, the color being off (not true) problem persists as mentioned above. Green grass appears brown...if you adjust the tint of this, you can improve the grass color but everything else is then off.
