Hey folks,

I'm new here. Just got a 2017 Versa Note. Looking for a way to mod the backup camera, perhaps activating it via a switch other than reverse. Is there anything like this possible?

Also, what are the easiest, cheapest mods I can/should do right off the bat?

Thanks!!!!
Paul

Welcome aboard!

Doubtful on the switched cam idea - check the FSM and determine if it is tied in with the reverse lights, or if its actuated by the shift lever position.

Now that I think of it, it'll be 2-3 years before you can access a wiring diagram for your car (Nissan is slow with those). You're messing with a CAN-bus wiring harness, so unless you're experienced with such, I'd skip that idea.

I'd just add in an aftermarket front and rear-facing cam.

Cheap and easy mods - Read through the threads here, and see what other folks have done. The new Note is a cool little car, glad you're here!
