My new shoes arrived yesterday. Cooper Discover A/T's, 245/65R17

My wheels have the blistering issue and am considering new after market wheels.

Is this correct on the OEM Wheels?
17" x 8"
6 Lug x 5.5"
5.29" backspacing

Question:
Can the backspacing be a bit different without rubbing, sticking out too far, looking weird or other issues?

I think the term you're looking for is offset, I'm unfamiliar with backspacing being used with regards to wheels. The wheel specs are 17 x 8JJ Aluminum/20 (0.79) meaning 20MM of offset from the center line towards the outside of the wheel. More offset moves the wheel in towards the body. Kind of counterintuitive, at least to me, but that's how it's measured. Minor differences are generally ok.

FWIW, while kind of a no name brand that sounds like what I've got on mine and I'm more than happy with them. Reasonably quiet and smooth, have gotten me thru deep sand with no issues and with 20K on them they look almost brand new.

Does 18mm work okay? It seems to be a more prevalent size.

I'm not an expert, but 2MM further out is nothing with stock sized tires. I can't imagine it would not work it's so close. The same size tire by different manufacturers will vary by more than that. You're good with 18MM offset.

10MM less offset means they will "poke" out 10mm further. But 10MM further out on a 4WD truck is next to nothing so you should be just fine.
