I got my new S14 seats put in, and i removed the back seat of my hatchback because the interiors just dont match. i kinda prefer the 2-seater situation anyway. so now what?

Is there anyone out there who has fabbed a parcel shelf or integrated a lock box or something? i'm curious to know what function that backseat area can serve now that the useless buckets are out. post it up! pics, too, if you have them.

my best ideas so far include a locking toolbox, an integrated speaker box, or maybe just a parcel shelf.

I have, I made my convertible a 2seat roadster. hehehebut I guess since the hb n convertible are different your gonna have to put in the measurements yourself! after i finished the cover I mounted 2 6x9s right behind the headrests and the extra space underneath will eventually hold my jl w7s and some sort of locking storage area....

anything is possible just use your imagination and to help you a little more on the speed end find the lightest weight components you can find.

there is one thing i would like to get for my car one day maybe. it is made by a Japanese company called Zenitani. it is a fiberglass piece that is in the shape of the rear seat are that bolts over everything back there so it is one big piece of smoothness. it covers the hole that goes between the cabin and the trunk. i dont think anybody has one here in the U.S.

i was thinking this: put the glove box (with new upholstry, of course) in the back in its own little space, and have the front area where the glove box previously was be the space for my "passenger entertainment system." you could probably fit an asian girl down there! i'm gonna stop there...the possibilities are endless.

I had always pictured a custom sub inclosure.. maybe an amp rack, 6x9s..or a good place to mount N20 and CO2 bottles.

Duh, install a giant electronic cooler. Need a brew? It's in the backseat. Want a sandwich? It's in the backseat. Want to stash a body? Cut it up and put it in the backseat. The possibilities are ENDLESS!

nice.

i think first i'll put down a layer of dynamat, and then start fabbing...but out of what? that is the question. i've got a buddy that does fiberglass work, maybe that'll do. whatever i put back there, the glovebox is going directly behind the center console, facing forward for easy access.

I made my cover out of pegboard its like a super thick cardboard with holes punched in it, its the stuff they use at stores to hand merchandise... naturally you need to build a little support frame and need to cover it with fabric.I will soon be making something to cover the top, like a tonneau cover or something was thinking about fiberglass but I have never worked with it before so it could be a nice experience, I hope I dont get too bad of a rash!!!my other alternative would be sheet metal.

I like my back seat. Gives me some place to put backpacks and whatnot and it's easily accessible when the top's down :D

DTS, just take a trip down 66 to 81 and come on over. After a coupla days of running around, make a B-line for California

Brian remember I wanted that thing too when I took my backseat out. I had to put it back in b/c the road noise was making me deaf...I wish I had the skills to just custom fab my own. Do you know what company makes it?

i'm trying to get some of the mysterious rear suspension myths figured out right now, so if you have any suspension questions, i can probably field them for you now. the only thing i'm unsure of is what the rear spring rate is. i think it's the same as a Z32

tight, I'm just waiting on my new brembo rear rotors and axxis brake pads so I can do everything at once.I switched my suspension like 3 times in my teggy so its not gonna be anything new, I just dont wanna have to take it all apart more than once.

don't blame you. if you want to make it easy, try to get a ratcheting box wrench sized for 12 MM to get the front bolt out, and the rear bolt is accessible by sticking your hand under the liner for the top's storage compartment. I didn't have a correct wrench (all my ratchet boxes are standard >:( ) and had to use a 12 point 12MM on a breaker bar because my normal ratched was too thick. 1/12 of a turn at a time  took me 20 minutes to get it off

thanks for the pointers man, hopefully I wont need a breaker bar... I've got an impact wrench and every other air tool imaginable gotta love it, but not the deafness I incurr after using them. :)

Do you or someone you know have a problem with hijackers? Well you're in luck because we have a great offer specially formulated for you. It's the Hijack-Buster 770, and it couldn't be any easier to use. Just apply a liberal dose of HB770 to all those pesky jackers, and your problem will be fixed in no time!HIIIII-YA!

Well.... you took out the back seats ... you can rip the rest of the carpet out in the front take out the dash make a fiberglass dash btw in the S13 the dash is 40lbs. hopefully the FG model will be 20-25lbs lighter. take off door panels,CF hood,CF seats,Lightweight downpipe and cat back, lighter driveshaft, lightweight BOV, lightweight flywheel,coilovers......

then i dunno if the S14 uses rubber insilation between the carpet and the floorbored. But i remember they removed 200lbs out of a civic Si cause of that rubber crap and heavy *** carpet.

hrem... sorry i think i got a little overboard on lightening the car

the HB770 will not work against a member of EvoM's Coalition for people who Like Inoperative Topics!

just email the pics on over :D
