o ill try and get that if he didn't clear it already.

It has an evap leak. And the transmission already is making a sh1t ton of noise. Also you can switch between AWD and 2wd

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH B1CTCHES.

The GTR is in here cause of and Evap leak.......and.....

. get this.....

.THe friction plates need to be readjusted because they launched it too many times, So you gotta hook up consult 3 to it and reprogram the transmission, and if you do it wrong the transmission will not shift. hahahahhahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Surprised by the AWD/2wd thing. When you switch to 2wd is it RWD? I would assume so.

Not surprised by the transmission. Yet another reason this car should be offered with a manual.

Anything you can fix with a consult isn't a real problem. How do you know it happened because they launched it too many times? How many times did they launch it?

They said it was somewhere in the 20's What happenes is it shifts reall reall hard after that, then when your coming to a light and are downshifting manually, it will stall into first.

Ok cool. Thanks for the info. I guess it could be worse haha. I'll see if anyone at Borgwarner knows about that problem and try and find out if they are trying to fix it. I sent an email out to a guy today about a half hour before I left for the day.

Will it stall going into first if you leave it in auto?

Hmmm, that is weird. Almost sounds like an electronic problem rather than mechanical problem. Either that or during auto mode they spray more coolant/lubricant on the clutches and let them slip more. Damn, I wanna find out now.

If a software update will fix it I agree that it's not really broken, since the warranty time pays less than an hour(well then again most things do).

This transmission makes noise and shift shock doesn't sound like it would be uncommon. I personally wonder what the deal is with it. I know they beat it pretty hard in testing. 15 launches at 4500 that's a lot a stress on the trans but it should not be enough to waste a good Borg, they have adjustable clutch application. I am not privy to GT-R knowledge that just what I have managed to absorb from the ESM.

So Tom...wait...

You said in your first post that if something goes wrong other than an oil change, they have to call in a special team to fix it.

But this one came in with a check engine light for an EVAP leak, and needing the TCU reprogrammed. So did you guys have to "call in a special team" to hook up a consult, or was this another over-exaggeration?

Is it a service team or the TSM? I just assumed that is something that the DTS would take care of. I am out of the GT-R loop at Infiniti. That sounds like a pretty sweet gig though if all you do is drive around and fix broken race cars.... I have an idea of the next job I want.

Yea, there were these guys from Nissan here yesterday. They were pretty arrogant.

So, I guess my email is going up the ranks at BorgWarner and they are looking into it. The first guy I emailed said he hadn't heard anything about that, but is going to look into it further.

I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Tom- is the car still there due to the transmission or the Evap leak? I guess what I'm asking is, was the transmission a "quick fix"?

Maybe shes just breaking in, and this is her "20 something launch tune-up" haha. It does seem odd that this would happen and nothing physically has to get replaced.

yea, it is just a readjustment of the friction plates. So I guess is not too bad. They were working on it yesterday, test drive, readjust, test drive, readjust. Its pretty stupid idea if you ask me.

That's understandable though there is a very specific procedure the GT-R techs were taught in the training class for adjusting clutch pack engagement or something similar to that, were not privy to that knowledge.

So it's not quite broken yet. that's a plus

Better than the EVO8 or 9 which blew the clutch after about 4.
