Anyone know why I am hearing what sounds like a backfire, pop, explosion, under the hood only when I give it a lot of throttle? At half throttle all the way to full throttle, in drive or in park, I get this "backfire" sound from what I can tell is around the air filter box.. No codes or lights on.. I wish it would light up and tell me.. any ideas?

I’m still getting the same pop/explosion sound emanating from the air filter box. This only happens when I “floor it” .. I’ve even attempted to do it repeatedly in hopes of getting a code.. anyone else dealt or have or know about this?

Never heard of it... Is the main intake hose in good condition? If it's split and you're sucking unmetered air in to the intake - maybe that could cause fuel mixture problems?

Yea I’m pretty lucky so far with the rubber under the hood, nothing cracked even. I’ve always sprayed off the motor with the water hose and after it dries I always spray 303 Aerospace Protectant over everything. Anyone who hasn’t heard of it should definitely look it up in some other forums. I learned of it when I had the LS430 in those forums. My dash, back seats all look brand new. Not one single blemish in the dash.. and the leather dash cover helps I’m sure.. off topic, sorry.. but no there’s nothing wrong with any of the hoses nor the intake.. the easiest way to create the pop is idling in Park and punch the gas peddle down fast. If I do it slow it’s normal. But fast; then the mini explosion in the intake. I am 100% sure the sound in emanating from the intake..
