backfire, surging, not all she has!

i have a 1995 240sx with 114xxx on it, so the car idles just fine, when i feather the gas it runs fine, when i just push the gas it surges through the rpms and at WOT it doesnt seem to give all it has. when im slowing down it backfires around 1 grand. and sometimes it just will cut-out. check engine light is not on. vacuum lines seem to be ok, i have an injen intake and catback exhaust. it seems to be a common problem among 240's anyone help us please!! this isnt just my car so its not like all of us with this problem just didnt something to our car to simultaneously screw it up. maybe a sensor that went bad? i tried using another maf sensor and iat sensor, still does it, maybe the exhuast sensor? or plugs wires? help us please!!

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem.Possibly a fuel filter or a fuel pump with low fuel pressure. The pump has a sock filter on the bottom to filter tank trash. The fuel system is not a diag. curcuit by the ecm.

its fixed! im so happy, my timing was off by 20 degrees and no. 3 cylinder wasnt getting spark. i rebuilt my distributor and retimed it. runs like its brand new now. thanks for your help, i do need to get a new fuel pump and injectors soon tho.

hmmm mines dead on # 3 i think and but its miising all the time and ive tried everything but the pump ! could the DIST be bad ?

Could also be faulty wiring.
