Back window struts

2005 Nissan pathfinder, I'm on my 3rd set of back window struts. (Just one at a time) I’ve even went as far as putting a small screw on the piece that slides up on the ball on the top of glass so it doesn’t slide down and pop off the ball, it opens ok but seems to be in a bind when i close the glass, if you notice the strut rotates a little or at least mine does, these are different after market struts but i don’t see any difference, any help will be appreciated. thanks grm

Sounds like the mount might be bent / misaligned, causing torsion in the rod when it closes.

There should be a metal retainer clip that keeps the socket on the ball. If it's in place, and that socket is still coming off the ball, something is very amiss.
