About once or twice a month my back camera on my 06 m45 flakes out.

The screen turns black and I have red and green lines on the black screen.

It seems to correct it self after awhile.

Of course ever time I take it in for service it's starts to function again.

Many Thanks....

Not sure what the issue is but I do know you should snap a few pics with a phone camera or something when it happens. That way you've got the proof for the dealer.

Hey there,

Has your dealer replaced anything?

I would highly suspect the camera control unit, if the camera fails (very uncommon in the 06+M) the image is usually constantly black with no rolling image. What I'm thinking is, since there are no guidelines displayed the output image from the Camera C/U is corrupt. This is not something you can conclusively diagnose your self (then you would have to try and convince the dealer) very easily.

However, if you are interested I can try to walk you through the on-board self diagnosis, although I highly doubt that will yield any results.

Sure I'm down.

I would like to try to fix it before my warrenty is up.

I have 56,000 on my 06 it's getting pretty close.

What's your thoughts on the 06 M45. The motor/trans seems like it will last me a couple of 100,000 miles. I think I'm going to have some electrical issues in the future before I have motor or trans problems. What kind of problems do you see in high mileage m45's?

Thanks again for your SOLID SUPPOT AGAIN.....

You should get the exact description of the problem on record with the dealer even if the problem is not reproducible. That way when the problem reappears after your warranty is over, they can't refuse warranty service.

I see very few concern that should be classified as "typical" the most common complaints are directly related to neglect and abuse. If you meet or exceed the maintenance schedule and take good care of it, and drive it like you want it to last 100+k it will perform for you. The seat frame is the only interior item that tends to wear after a while. If you have ANY movement take it in before your basic warranty expires.

I would also advise developing a good rapport with your local Infiniti dealer. If they know they can count on you for an "Excellent" survey they will do everything in their power to help you.
