Has anyone ever wondered what Back to the Future would have been like if Doc was a Dastun fan and used a 200SX? Or maybe a 300ZX? Or a 280ZX?

But they wouldn't have worked. See what make the Delorean perfect for time-flux dispersal was the brushed, stainless steel construction. :D

lol Damn why do I know such useless ****

you've been watching Encore haven't ya? i watched part II last night. I think the second was the best. Very cool ideas for the time. Made ya dream. If it was a 300zx he wouldn't have stalled trying to hit that wire and the lightning, of course it would have been stolen more often

Those are the best movies!! 80's classics!!

Matt is right about the stainless steel constructin, the sole purpose the DeLorean was chosen for the task.

Besides, DeLoreans are just too cool!!

What was up with Encore, they show part1 and 2 but not 3. Damnit 3 is my fav. Got to love the railroad wheels on the DeLorean.

Yeah I almost bought my uncle's DeLorean, I loved that thing. The only thing that stopped me was it needed new rings, and anything on those things is expensive as hell. Oh well, I'll own one someday lol

engine stuff is fairly cheap if you know where to look..... it shares it's engine with the Volvo 760.. that engine was jointly developed between Peugot Renault and Volvo... and the 760 just happens to be the most common US car with it....

Anyone know the stats of a DeLorean? I've heard they're not all that fast for their price tag of the time. It looked like McFly was having trouble getting it up to 88mph.

I might be mixing this up with the lotus esprit... but I'm pretty sure it was the Delorean... supposedly they were the fastest production 4 cyl. of their time. Isn't that the car at the beginning of Pretty woman... ah I forget, but I always thought it was the delorean. From what I have heard, they are fast as hell!

lol heh sorry maine, but a DeLorean is a V-6 which only produces around 130 hp and 150 or so torque at the flywheel. Hence, they're pretty much slower then shiznit unless you do major work to them. When you buy one you're pretty much buying it for looks and to collect it, unless you're crazy like me and wanna rebuild the engine and twin-turbo it :D but oh well, I'm perfectly happy with my 240 lol

Yup, I was definately under the wrong impression... a whopping 130 hp from a V6.... that is pretty lame! Thanks for clearing that up. They are damn nice looking with the stainless finish and all. So, maybe it was the Lotus Esprit Turbo I was thinking about. Did they come with a 4cyl.? I'd like to know what the hell car it was that I'm thinking about.... maybe it was a Dodge Rampage... oh who knows......... what was the fastest production 4cyl car?
