i have a 89 240 that I'm half way thru the wide body conversion, i have both front and rear( if i remember correctly 50mm rear) . I've looked online for someone who has done it but have not had much luck with getting measurements.
The best guess i came up with was a 8 inch wide 25mm offset or 9.5 inch wide rim with about a 35mm offset for the rear but I'm not sure, i don't want custom rim (three piece to my specs), i would prefer a off the shelf rim. I'm going to do a five lug conversion soon, i feel there are better rim options...

thank in advance for any input

If I were running a +50 rear fender I would use something like a 17x12-20 to 0 with a 305/335 tire. You going wide to fit wide wheels, and you can fit a 275 tires on a stock fender.

You want an off the shelf wheel that will fill up 50mm rear overfenders with out spacers? Bro, did you know what you were getting yourself into when you started this?

Outtowin is about right, if you want max rubber fitment. You're gonna need some wide and probably very expensive wheels. Examples of S13's filling up 50mm rears:

It goes on and on. If you had problems finding examples of this, you are looking in the wrong place. I wouldn't call it common, but it ain't hard to find either.
