I took my back seats out so this way when I'm hanging out I don't have like 18 ppl asking to ride with me. Plus when you hit the track and bring massive amount of tires etc. you dont gotta worry about dirtying your interior or breaking it

Correct me if I'm wrong..

But if you do the back seat delete with the CF panels, dont you lose the ability to fold them down?

In this type of situation you have to weigh the pros and cons..

there's a reason some of us don't drive Miatas or S2000s:]

^no s2000 for me cause i can't afford it. otherwise i'd ditch this 240 in a heartbeat...well maybe not a heartbeat but i would take a clean white/red ap2 over my 240 though. as much as i love 240s...s2000's fit me more being a convertable and great out of the box performance.

I gutted my rear interior then sprayed it. It dosnt look bad. Then I realized the passanger seat weighs double wat the rear seat weighs. So I took out the passanger seat and left in the rear seat .

I like your bar setup but if you're going to take out your rear seats, why leave the sound deadening at all ? All the sound deadening in the car weighs as much as the rear seat.

how does having a back seat lower insurance cost? theres just some things i dont understand about insurance companies

having the back seat in the 240 is nice because its there just incase you need it, and makes a nice padded rear shelfssss, but its small enough to piss the hell off out of whoever is sitting back there so people dont nag you for rides

if your doing it for weight reduction purposes, then unless youve got an otherwise fully gutted interior and a lot of other stuff to reduce weight, taking out the back seat isnt going to do anything

on a daily driver, its functional, it looks cleaner, it makes the drive less loud, and it just makes more sense

qft. Me too. If anyone around 6ft has sat back there you know they're useless anyway. Might as well save the weight. Better gas mileage, handling, power/weight... u get the idea. I like my car to perform well all the time, not just on 'track days.' I have earplugs if I really get annoyed and yea I have used em for my hour long commutes before.

To insurance companies - when a car HAS a backseat - it is more related to a (I guess) family oriented car.

When there is no backseat (or area for one) it is looked as more of a sports car - meaning faster - meaning more teens doing stupid stuff.

Thats just my take on how insurance companies look at it

I'm half tempted to rip out my backseat once I start driving to school everyday. These kids are fiends for rides. But, then again I could just fold it down and tell people there's no seat. I found out today that s13 seats are great at holding groceries and my little bro.

i guess i should have mentioned that the harnesses are no longer mounted like that when i posted the pic. i needed to pass inspection and that got the job done, the car didnt have the factory seatbelts when i got it and the harnesses were mounted straight down to the floor behind the seat so this was at least a little better. i purchased a 4 point cage to install the harnesses to but there was a mix up and i got an s14 cage, so im cageless and needed to do something to get it to pass. i hope that clears up some of the hate

some times i wish i had a hatch. i think you can be more creative in doing the seat delete, because there is more open space. in my coupe i have little to work with. even to to anything in the trunk, it's hard to do. you know the foot of room. i was able to build a box for 2 8" subs.

i was going to build a huge box in the back seat of my coupe for car shows. but i'm working on my brothers car at the moment. maybe i'll just start today.

it's also funny that this thread is up, cause in all the cars i've ever had (i'm 24 years old) i've taken out the rear seat.

my 92 240 vert (i don't have any finished pics.) i remade the back seat and put 2 10" subs in it. yes it even had cushion and a person could sit back there.

like my 95 dodge intrepid.

i wish i had more pics of the rest of my cars.

some one should give me some new ideas of how they'd want to see a coupe done.. and i'll build it.
