Soon, I'll be installing a Skyfi XM Radio receiver in my '95 J30. I plan on placing the antenna on the trunk (magnetic) with the wire running inside the vehicle.

Question is, how do I get from inside the trunk to the inside of the car? I remember messing with the bose speakers once from inside the trunk but I know the gas tank is also in there.

Do I have to remove the seat? Thanks.

Ok fellas. I got no replies on the original query so here goes again...

I have decided that I indeed need to remove the back seat of the J30 to get from inside the trunk to under the carpet. I was looking around in there and there's no easy way to get up to the sides of the parcel shelf from inside the trunk. I'm running the wires for an XM Satellite antenna from the trunk all the way up to the driver's area.

Can you guys enlighten me on the procedure to remove the back seat? I'm assuming I remove those two bolts on the bottom of the seat (on the carpet) and then I guess I just pull the bench out? The top part of the seat I'm not so sure about. I found two bolts hidden inside the compartment that holds the back-seat armrest but I'm not sure about the rest.

Any help, please?

Gracias!

Carlos,

I have never removed the back seat from my J30 but I have a basic idea of removing the seat from other Nissans that I've had.

First with the bottom part of the seat there are two bolts on the front. Take these out and lift up very hard, there are usually plastic retaining clips that hold in the seat. Once you have the bottom out there should be some bolts securing the bottom of the back of the seat to the car. Take these out and you will need to lift up very hard. The top half has a bar that hangs on multiple hooks across the width of the seat. Once you've gotten the back part of the seat out the rest should be very easy getting the back dash out. I'm sure that it just a few clips and you'll have it out.

I hope this works for you. Let me know how it goes.
