Well my back seat is out finally after weeks of procrastination. I like the feel (and the fact that now I have a 2-seater and people can't be like lemme get a ride y0). I hear lots of little things that were dampened by the excess material...the car has a little "growl" to it if you will now. IMO--its worth it to take them out, took me a whole 10 minutes (including the time it took me to find the tools (all thats required is a philips head screwdriver and a 10mm ratchet)) ***AND*** you get to see the ultra cool nico stickers that I got from repoman.

I had all the rear stuff removed from my 89 Hatch for awile. could hear road noise alot more. Had to put it all back in, AC has to fight to keep it cool with all of that removed.

I like my shelf though. :( And my friends have come to realize that's all my backseat really is so my S13 is always a last resort for transportation. :)

...I don't use AC though:). And later on I'm getting something custom fabbed to go over that and cover that hole. Until then, I like it the way it is (just needs to be cleaned like a beotch.)

I would've made fun of your seat covers Saturday, but you were one of the only other 240sx enthusiasts I've ever met... So I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Not to mention I have some Advance Autoparts ones too...

At least you know they're serving a purpose right now...they're not just there for the hell of it. But they will come out tomorrow;).

looks familiar, except my red coupe is completely gutted back there. I'm thinking of getting some thin black or gray carpet and fitting it over everything after I get a cage in. anyone done that?

Question: how did you physically go about removing the seat from the car.

I took the back seats out of my fastback. removed the seat belts too. all in all they weren't as heavy as I though, but it does look better now.(they where the stupid tweed-gray-ugly color. black carpet and gray s14 front seats) the rear carpet covers most of where the seat was.

Umm...there are little black tabs underneath the seat (part you sit on), just pull them and it comes right out. The back requires you to unscrew the piece that holds the carpet in (not to mention pull out the plastic stoppers) and take the carpet out. Then you unbolt the back from the car itself.

word. I was planning on taking mine out and getting a back seat thing custom made, just so it didn't look barren back there.

Mine are gone. I used roll-on bed-liner for the rear after i scraped all the insulation stuff off. Worked nice and cuts down on the road noise.

I've been considering pulling the backseat out of my '98 kouki. I'm almost convinced I'll do it, but maybe I'll wait until I do the sound system. Maybe replace the back seat with a couple of 10"s?

I don't like the idea of that big gaping hole.

How hard is it to take out and then replace?

I'm going to try to pull out the rear seat and the passenger seat next time I go to the track. I know its kind of campy, but if there is money involved, then I'm not against making an advantage for myeslf.
