My story:
Traded my stock 1992 240sx ka24de for a 1990 s13.5 sr20det(busted head)
I got a new head from a member on this forum and replaced the head and chain and gaskets. I made a mistake yesterday with the timing chain and ended up getting my intake cam at the 11'oclock position instead of 10. Turned it over a few times before i realized it wasn't running right.
Today i fixed the intake cam to the 10'oclock position and the exhaust to the 12'oclock position. I then counted the chain links inbetween the cams to 11. Crank was at 0tdc when resetting cam alignment. Btw i did remove the cam caps while performing this task.
I get her fired up today and running but had to advance the cas fully to get it to start. Also did poofs of white smoke coming from the exhaust. I assume it's fuel related.
I do not know the history of the motor except for looking at the maf JWT POP CHARGER MAF and Super T28 garrett turbo stock intake but not sure if stock injectors. Spark plugs set to .032 and check all 4 coil packs for spark and check all 4 injectors by unplugging each one and watching and listening for change of engine tone. Everything is working. I did not see any boost leaks also put in 5 gallons of new fuel today and new plugs and new fuel filter.
any ideas?
