ON THE STREETS!!!!! MEAN GREEN IS OFFICIALLY BACK!!!!!

edit. i put the car back together today, and had a couple mishaps with the panels scrapping on each other, but thats nothing i cant fix with my left over paint. heres the final pics of mean green all put together. im going to rock my 350z wheels when i get to my house. werd! SO NE PICS JUST ABOVE OLD PICS! i know how some of you are impatient soo i made it easy for you...enjoy!

alright so the "mean green machine" is getting meaner AND greener! first off the painting is being done by my cousin and i at an awesome facility in santa barbara, ca. this place is my parents garage. hahahahaha. but really hes a professional automotive finisher so he knows whats he's doing. im just the work horse. anyways, as luck would have it, about three months ago i was "performing a phat drift" and a chainlink fence jumped out at me. of course thats not really what happend, but the end result was a lot of hammering and bondo filling my passenger door and getting a complete body kit, minus the rear 1/4 panels.

then just a few weeks ago, some drunk oldman decides to pull a bone head move and bust right into my driver door with his front bumper! depressing and angering at once it was. so i followed the guy in his attempt to run from the scene. i got all his insurance info and the like, and well now im repainting (and doing lots of body repair work to) my S14!!!

i have some pictures of the process, but im gonna wait to put em up untill i get the damm thing completely done. the color is dupont "nason" series color code dn1. it is a deep metallic turquoise green. im getting ride of the factory FN2 B color. it was nice, but i was never fond of the brownish off tone that came from that color mix.

As for the "mean" goes, not too much, but im going to put inmy 550cc jecs/deatschwerks injectors and up my fuel pressure a bit and get a death knob to up the boost. im just gonna do a mild street tune for now till i get some other goodies to manage boost maps and fuel curve maps. hopefully not to far after that i will get a new valve train in and make it breath even better. werd!

MEAN GREEN S14!!!! commin back with the attack!

and there ye have it!

edit:my cousin and i finished "clearing" the body of the car this (monday, july 28th) morning. its baking in the "booth" as i speak.so with out further adue, here are some pics of the prep and painting process. enjoy!!!:::

so all in all, it looks tits. its gonna look even more sick when i get all the kit on and take it out for a photo shoot. i have to wait a few weeks before i can even think about colo rsanding or buffing it. but yeah...this s**t looks tight! let me know what ya guys and gals think!!

thanks for the kind words guys! yeah the color is nice. i know the color looks like *** untill the clear gets on! then TIIIIIITS!! hahaha.

as for the tint...yeah it will need to be limo tinted for sure. that WILL look ballin.

and for the new door on the passenger side. i will get one eventualy, but i didnt have the time or extra money to get two doors. but i know where to get another one for 200 bucks! so when ive got some extra cash i will get the door and go get some more basecoat activator and prep n paint away.

im gonna put it all together tomorrow and its photoshoot time!!!

Looks good man, I would have taken out the quarter windows but thats me,I think it turned out great though.

Few ?`s what clear, base, reducer, hardener (slow, medium etc) did you use and what temp was it when you were painting?

Reason I ask is because I sprayed in 110degrees with medium reducer and had bad results.

I wish I had painting skills like that. The only painting I do is portraits, landscapes and that kinda stuff. My paint is fading so fast it's not even funny.

Good job man.

yo ryan15, we used a medium reducer in about mid 70-80 heat. thats all we could get while spraying in the garage. the firehazard was gnarly enough as it was with my bro and his pals wanting to smoke out and the water heater and in floor water bolier.all the paint chemicals i used were "nason" by dupont. i think the clear is a bit on the hazy side and seemed to dry kinda brittle. we'll see how it looks after i colorsand and buff it in a few weeks.
