I just had a s14 swapped to my s13. Currently it was running fine until the backfiring occured. In between shifts. Im guessing its running too rich, or not enough back flow. Does anybody know how to get rid of it??

I'd check all the electrical connections. Especially the coolant temp sensor on the front. (The little red connector that goes in near the thermastat) If that is not connected it will mess with the A/F ratio

Are you sure it's running rich or is it just backfiring? And by backforing do you mean it is making a loud popping? Or is it just not firing correctly? It very well may be missing, not backfiring. Big difference...

If it were me I'd check over ever piece of ignition equipment... plugs, wires, coil, distributor.

Its back firing, i hear loud popping. Plus i forgot to include this part before hand, I found out that one of the coils were bad, because my car was blowing out blue smoke from the tail pipe. So i replaced it and problem solved.

Now back on the backfiring part..im not sure if any of the other coils are going bad to or it can be any other ignition system probs.. I notice to when idling my car stutters at times.

Im thinking of buying a splitfire coil pack, and upgrade the sparkplugs to as well if i ever have to change another coil if that was the case....Inform me more about it

thanks

did you swap on a huge exhaust during the swap? if you're hearing a popping noise coming from the exhaust, say, whenever you let off the throttle, its most likely back pressure in your exhaust, which is not really a big problem. to get rid of it, make more power, or get a smaller exhaust.
