heymy CA has just started acting up... if I stomp the gas, and when the motor hits 4 thousand RPM it starts backfiring real bad. It sort of sounds like its running too rich, and you will lose a considerable amount of power. It will continue to rev however just slowly and it sounds horrible. If I'm easy on the throttle I can get it to rev higher but it does the same thing around 6K.

So far I've replace the plugs, fuel filter and added injector cleaner.

The motor is stock aside from a front mount, apexi cone.what do you guys think I should check next?

I would send the injectors out to be cleaned and flow tested (www.deatschwerks.com or something) then test the fuel pressure regulator.

double check your fuel pressure, run good gas, check your TPS plug, and pray for cold weather

Check for vac leaks. I second the fuel pressure issue as well.

hey thanks for the replies guys... like I said its a stock motor set up, I'm still running the stock fuel pump. Should I upgrade or will it be allright?

I'll get a gauge this weekend and let you guys know what the pressure is.

Also something maybe unrelated my idle is between 1500-1600. Hybrid dynamics says its because of a bad IACV. I tried adjusting the screw on the side of the IACV but it does nothing. What do you guys think.
