I have a couple of question for anybody who can help me out with a couple of problems I'm having with my car.

1. Both screws are broken on my TPS sensor, and today I was wiggling it because my idle was high and I heard a cracking sound, now whenever I rev it up, the engine speed drops VERY slowly. What did I do?

2. I have 3 exhaust manifold bolts broken off in the head; could this be the cause of the occasional backfire on my car? If so, how can I go about getting those out?

I also started hearing a tapping sound from the intake side of the motor, but I'll leave that one for another post.

you need to drill and extract all of these bolts especially the tps screws. you may have broken your tps( the crackling you heard) unless you have done something like this before It could be come costly to attempt it yourself. there is somewhat of a technique involved in extracting broken bolts. you could end up drilling to deep or to far off to one side and hit a coolant jacket. thats a new head mistake there.
