thanks CS. I see you recently replaced your bbs basketweaves for some F50 rims (at least they look like the 18 x 7.5 2002-2004 F50--i suppose could also be the 17 inch version that came on a few of the I35 models). i very much appreciate the utility of the 13 lb forged bbs alloys. unfortunately, they are: 1. dated, 2. a pain to keep clean, and 3 most important no longer able to find good summer tires for (although i thought the kumho ku21 all-season in 225/60/15 that i was most recently running were ok---they just squeal like mad in the rain and when i throw it into a corner). of course i will keep them for originality at period accurate shows.

The pictures make me think about a famous gum commercial for "double your pleasure, double your fun". I think having two Q45a models would be incredibly fun.

Just replaced the Fitipaldi wheels last weekend. Three of the wheels could stand a gold rejuvenation. I guess I should hang on to them and get them refinished in the event I should enter Q in a show where “period accuracy” matters. The wheels were purchased along with the car new from the dealer in OKC. Though I think any non factory wheel will land mine in a lost custom category.

In thinking about car shows, it may be time to start thinking about developing/publishing some Concours guidelines to possibly address wheels and other dealer installed items that were so prevalent in the early model years. The guidelines would be the place to acknowledge the BBS and Fitipaldi basket weave wheels.

I'm digging the look of the EX35 wheels on the silver one, as well as the slippers from the G-series sedan selection on the black Q.

Lookin Good!!!

2 active Q... thats something else.. When are you gonna give one of them 5 gears instead of 4...? :naughty:

What kind of rubber are you running on those?

TgduMg is spot on about the rims. Both sets are 17x 7.5 +45. I like the size, seems ideal for the car--offset +40 would be just a skosh better, although the factory 15 x6.5 are also +45s.

I was really thinking you guys would have identified the skins. hint i'm running 235/50/17 all the way around, with at least a 96W rating.

ahhh you got me there Jay... I have PS2's on my summer rims, EXCELLENT tires and definitely worth the extra money versus anything else.. Endless grip, quiet, smooth, what more could you ask for (except a lower price, LOL)

yep, first experience with PS2s and overall i'm very impressed. the ride quality is astounding. i blasted up to 125 on a stretch toward orlando, and they were smooth and silent. i got 2 used (porsche N0) with 7/32 to 8/32 remaining for $200 delivered. those road forced to 5lb each with zero weight. then 2 new ones (porsche N1), one of which had to be returned because it had >40 lb rf just in the tire.

blacq did not get PS2s, since i had bought her shoes before i found the PS2s. any guesses there?
