Ok soooo I have been getting around 14mpg on my G35 C (48k on the engine) And it does not seem to make to big a difference if I'm light or heavy on the gas.

My real question is this, How many gallons per hour does the VQ use at idle??? See thing is.. My girlfriend and I don't really have a place to go when we want to be alone except parking in a remote place and we might be there for 2-3 hours at a time I know this is having a impact on the mileage (since you're not moving but still burning gas) I just want an aproximate of how many gallons are being used at idle.

hehe yeah I know and she is worth it...

BUT I still woud like to be able to estimate my actual mileage by factoring in how much gas is used idleing per hour.

Anyone else get the sense that this thread is just another one of Kenrik's attention-seeking threads?

Turn your car off, Genius. Better yet, be a REAL balla and get a room.

You could do a test to find out...fill the tank completly and let it idle for 15 min. Fill it back up and multiply by 4...make sure you have your AC on.

Don't feel bad...I've been there myself! Of course I was still in high school...lol

Well why would you have your car running for over an hour anyway?I would try leaving it off for say 15 then on for 15etc. It isn't good on the engine running at idle for long periods of time. Plus if you are running the a/c as well jeez your burning a crapload more! The idea of filling it up then sitting at idle for 15 then illing back up and x4 sounds pretty good. Make sure you note what the outside temp is and what the climate control is set at then report back to us. That way if any of us are wanting to go park and make out for 2hrs we know how much gas we will burn! Oops I forgot I have my own place and I'm single!!!

It takes 6-8 HP to idle the engine and turn accessories. Each HP hour consumes 1/2 pound of gasoline say 4 pounds per hour or 2/3 of a gallon.

With AC on add another 3-4 HP depending on ambient.

$1.75- $2.50 per hour

Actually I was thinking of a motel room.......$55?

20 years ago I lived near one of those pay by the hour PRico Adult Cabanas where you drove your car into a individual garage closed the door and slid some cash per hour thru a slot to the attendant...........that way noone could see whose wife/daughter you were dating. All the players had dark tint cars.

From our pool on shopping days you saw a steady stream of cars coming and going.......sometimes a traffic jam from their 2 hour stay.
