Hello!

This is my first post here, so I'll give you a quick intro. I've been involved with local SCCA Solo II (driving a turbo Miata in SSM) and TSD rallys (driving my 07 SE-R Spec V and navigating for a friend in his Altima 3.5) for the past couple of years.

1. I'm interested in trying the Spec V in G Stock next year. Does anyone here have any experience with this model in Solo II?

2. Eventually I'd like to upgrade the suspension on the Spec V. In stock form it seems to hold on well once you've set it into a corner, but it's a bit slow to transition and a bit soft overall. Are there any good suspension options available yet? I know that Megan and K-sport coilovers are out, but I'd prefer to go with something adjustable from Koni, Bilstein, or KYB. What about anti-roll bars?

Thanks in advance...

I am running the Tanabe GF210 springs. I am in love with them and the way they feel in all three parts of the corner. The spring rate are about 60 lbs. higher front and rear with only a .5 drop.

This is great becasue it allows for farther suspention travel without hitting your bump stops on every hard turn in! I have been running them on stock struts for over 30k miles!!!.

The great thing about the spec-v which most people dont know is that the shocks/struts are built by Sachs. This is the same company that designs and builds shocks for the BMW sport and M class suspentions!! The spec-v struts are great struts and work well when not slammed with over .5 drop!!!

If you want to go to the extreme go with Megan racing or K-sport coilover set-ups. Just remember again to not slam the car and give it enough travel to work properly.

I am also running BF-goodrich g-force supersport's (stock size). They are a LARGE improvement over the stock contenintial tires. They grab better on entrance where the stock tire lags. slides just a bit in mid corner, and has great stright line punch for the exit.

I am running a strut bar built by AEBSTRACT here on the boards.zer...y-b16

I love mine from him and it REALLY tightens the fron end of the car up a lot. Granted I can feel every little bump now. but hey it sperformance.

I have the megan coils and they are fully adjustable. Megan coilovers are made by BC Racing so they are pretty good quality for the price. As for the previous poster, you can lower these coilovers as much as you like, the amount of damper travel stays the same. Ground clearance is the the only issue.

I have a 92' B-13 and I am running a set of 2009 K-Sports Coilovers they were stiff at first I had them since summer of 09 and right now there great they are full ajustable and they are way different then the other old K-Sports. The stiffness has gone away and I can take corners like a rail. I am happy with them and how the B-13 rides. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the replies!

So far, they seem to confirm what I found on my own, which is that there are no adjustable suspension components available beyond full coilover setups right now. Unfortunately, coilovers would bump me out of the stock class and I'd probably have to perform a lot more mods to be competitive.

Stock class allows the wheel/tire setup and front antiroll bar to be changed, adjustable shocks, and stock springs. I've already got a spare set of wheels, and could easily pick up a set of 235/40-17 take-offs pretty cheaply. Unfortunately, sticky tires on a soft suspension would lead to even more body roll, hence my search.

If nothing's available soon, I'll probably just run the car "as-is" and see how things play out this Spring.
