A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Good day to all. i was in the junk yard and I found a complete 1992 se-r sentra. I want to know if i can put the breaks, motor and transmission on my 1995 ga16. Is this a good source for a swap car? Help I want to pull it in the morning.

I know absolutely nothing about your car, or the donor engine. However with enough time, effort, money and skill, anything can be done.

CA emissions will mess you up here. The '92 motor is OBDI, your car is OBDII. If you do a full OBDI conversion you'll be alright, but I have no clue what's involved with that as far as the state goes.

Personally, I'd make the '92 a project.

That would not be a one stop choice for a swap car... You could use the engine, transmission, brakes (If the 92 has abs - otherwise they would be the same as your brakes already on the car, and pointless), and IF you are really, really good at wiring/harness work you could use the older b13 ecu/harness(I am currently in the process of making that same b13 electronics into a b14 swap on a friends car). Then you still need - the engine mounts, engine mount brackets, and axles from a B14 SE-R. The b13 mounts/axles won't work in the b14. You will also need a B14 SE-R radiator, as the hoses on your ga16 radiator are smaller than on the sr20.

As far as emissions - that depends, some early 95's were not fully obd2 compliant, as they didn't go fully obd2 untill '96. If yours is not full obd2, you would only be required to pass the sniffer test.

As stated, I have done the ga16 to sr20 conversion before, as well as harness modifications... If you need any info/help don't hesitate to ask!

The b13 axles are the same as the B14 when comparing same model (se-r) and the motor mounts are no different either as along you are using trying to use sr20 mounts with a sr20 motor.

Really? Didnt know that... Either way, new axles and mounts are a good idea - who knows what sort of poor condition the junkyard stuff is in. I would still go new, but thats just me
