Hello, everybody--

Just wanted to introduce myself, now that I've found 240 'vert nirvana in this forum.

I'm Greg Perry, and some of you may know of me from the SR20 Forum (I'm an admin there) or from my http://www.TurboChargedSE-R.com website. I'm a turbo B13 guy at heart.

I just acquired a '93 240 convertible yesterday. Has 107k miles, is white/black top, also has a 5 speed swap, and a BoostDesigns turbo kit on it. Full 3" exhaust including a Calsonic catalytic converter. Never seen one of those...

Pretty fun car, but the FMU and open BOV must go, and quick. First plans are to get *proper* fuel management on the car, then work on the cosmetics (paint, interior, maybe seats).

The 'vert was *supposedly* built by XAT Racing in Tampa, FL. I am trying to verify what -if anything- else was done to it in addition to the turbo kit.

Bad news is it appears the starter is on its way out. Had to push start it and leave it running for the 4 hour trip home yesterday. Get three lights on the dash and no crank. I'm going to hit the starter with a hammer, see what happens.

Of the 5 Nissans I own, two are S13s. The coupe is going to a new owner in Cincinnati next week. The convertible will be it for me, in terms of S-chassis cars, and I couldn't be happier.

Pic of the 'vert on its trip back home is attached. I'll shoot more pics once I clean it up, as it really, really, really needs a bath in the worst way.

I look forward to hanging around here and have already spent about 4 hours searching through old posts. GREAT info in here, keep it up.

Thanks, guys.

As for the 'go' part...I feel this setup is underperforming. The atmospheric BOV and FMU have a LOT to do with that, and will be changed out very, very soon.

Right now, it just needs a good cleaning. However, the hurricane Katrina remnants are going to make that impossible for the next couple days.

New top, new paint, and new carpet will be done for springtime cruising.

welcome to the boards greg!

I'm sure you've looked through some our sponsors by now. You should be able to get a new carpet through them for a good price.

One thing to note on seat selection is that if you go with a set of S14 seats, they have a tendency to rub the rear interior pieces when reclined slightly.

Bart--

Thanks for the heads-up. S14 seats are still on the short list. Carpet and maybe a new complete top are in the cards first. I spent this evening vacuuming and cleaning, as the interior was very dirty. Much better now. It is amazing what a bottle of Armour All Cleaner and some elbow grease can do.

i spent hours steamcleaning mine. unfortunately, one of the previous owners spilled what smelt like chewing tobacco in the back floorboards, so they haven't come clean.

New carpet is definitely on my list for the near future, but I want to get my rollbar made up first so I can cut up the old carpet for fitment of the main hoop's feet.

My turbo '93 SE-R has an Autopower roll bar in it, Bart, and the only real trimming I had to do was a small slit on the side sills, where the main hoop connects. And that slit is on a almost vertical surface (sill), so it's really hard to see it. It is almost invisible, especially on black/charcoal carpet.

My point? If you'd like new carpet now, you'll only have to cut a very small piece out for the roll bar.
