I Hydro-locked my GA16DE in my B13 ... What other engines are relatively easy to swap into this car? I hear the sr20 isn't all that easy to do, what about the CA18, or any other motors?

After some research, i can only find that the SR20 and GA16 are fairly easy to drop in, but the SR20 just requires alot more parts and thus too far out of budget, however, I did find a JDM version of the GA16DE, what are the differences between the USDM and JDM GA16 you may ask yourself, according to rumor. It has no EGR system, built to tighter specs, and has a different Instake Manifold. So there is a little difference in power. You can get both GA's for about the same price.

Be carefull about the JDM motors though.Parts will rape you.Did you check on a USDM SR20DE?Its a really good motor and you can add the turbo down the road pretty reasonablely.

You can find a USDM SR20DE for under $500 usually at a junkyard.

Thanks cosmo, for pointing that out for the others, I can find SE-R front clips for about $700 ... but am not sure if that would have all the parts required for the swap. 1000 for parts is about my limit, if I have to spend over that to fix the sentra, then I might as well get another S13, I'd rather drop a SR in that.

I know of many 200sx and Sentra's with the SR's that are making some mad power and putting down some fast times.I guess it all depends on what you wnat to do with your car.SR's are high matiance.

Only high maintance if you are pushing 500 HP out on stock bottom end. If you leave them stock, or close to it, they will not cause you any problems.

QR's are high maintance jez....I've done more work on my spec V to keep it running than i ever did on my B14 SE-R.

True! I have done nothing to mine but it is very close to stock as you said. Most any motor is going to be pretty good as long as you don't go moding it to no end.;)

that wouldnt happen to be eurostlyez selling it would it? anyways, the ca ,ga , and e series motors all share the same mounts which is why the ca is a more budget minded swap for the b12. i dont see why it wouldnt just go into a b13 . i havent heard anything saying otherwise

Probably, but it'd be a PITA. Save yourself the trouble and either get a GA or an SR. They're the easiest swaps and the SRs are more fun than the QG anyway.

no really... this thread is painful... it shouldlnt just be allowed to die, it should be taken out back and shot lol

short of the interesting, albeit i've seen it raised a few times before, point of dropping a ca into a classic, this thread makes baby jesus cry

"i blew up my engine... can the engine fairy put in a bigger faster one for $2.79? please"

not to mention the SR went from being really hard to put in to really easy in one easy step lol

(for what its worth im not tryin to get my flame on... just somewhere deal with too many lowballers in a regular basis... and these things just make a place deep inside of me weep and cry haha)
