b12 need help. new auto-x project

recently my buddy just bought a 1990 sentra 2 door, and she needs some work. the engines got about 143xxx miles on it, but its unknown when the last time the clutch was changed, and its decided to go out on use. it started out it wouldnt want to go into gear, then once it was in, it wouldnt want to come out. after a few days of driving it from my house to his (about a block) the clutch started getting better. now its back to what it use to do, but it slips very badly now. since its the ga16, not fule injected, i was wondering if we could use the clutch from a ga16de. if this is possible, were getting a nice act atage 1 since its auto-x and a daily driver kinda thing with just a few mods. do you all think this'll work? also, what about suspension work? can i somehow fab stuff from the b13 to work on the b12 chassie? :thinker

Ok, you've got the GA16i with throttle body injection, try adjusting your clutch cable on the transmission side and see if that helps, I don't much about clutch interchangability on the GA's but if you want to swap in a GA16DE from a B13 or B14 supposedly it'll bolt right in and you can still use the tranny you have right now, wiring would have to be redone though. As for B13 stuff on the B12, strut tower braces, struts, and front brake setups are interchangable.

The GA16I and GA16DE share the same bottom end, so theoretically the same clutch will work on both. I can't think of a reason they wouldn't.

I think it had something to do with the bell housing interfering with the flywheel or pressure plate, don't remember exactly.
