I have a 1989 Nissan Sentra sedan(B12 ga16i) and I need to replace the exhaust soon. Trying to find something less restrictive to improve mpg's with out adding a coffee can... Basically going for slightly more aggressive than stock. I've found few supporting exhaust options none of which I'm keen on. I was comparing the b12 and b13 cat-back systems(stock) from pictures and they look almost identical. Would a b13 cat-back fit a b12? Any supporting information would be greatly appreciated!

Holy crap I have no idea on where to start on this one lol

Maybe someone familiar with the B12 can chime in.

The two exhaust systems don't interchange directly. I've always had to custom build my exhaust systems because I won't run the tiny 1.5" pipes they're made from. if you're not able to fabricate, any muffler shop should be able to make you up something in 2" pipe.

I had an 87 B12, had to get a garage in town to run a 2" exhaust, sounded great, but you don't really feel the effects of it until you get to highway speeds, that may be because I still ran the factory exhaust manifold, but there was a definite improvement towards the top end. Mine had a 3sp AT with no O/D, I used part synthetic oil, and on 87 Octane it got around 30-32MPG, and on 93 Octane around 33-35MPG, the needle barely moved. With regular maintenance, those little 1.6Ls are near bulletproof.
