I would suggest you not trying to put a CA18DET in a B12 sentra unless you're ready to treat it like a project because that's what it becomes 'a project' . About it being big money, the answer on that is no! But it will cost as anything with a turbocharger that didn't come turbocharged will. If you had a KN13 1987-89 pulsar SE, it'd be a little more easier. But the B12 sentra requires parts from this car to make this swap legit and simple. Bolting the engine down is easy, but wiring is where it gets interesting at, although it can be done. Hope this helps........jgauspohl wrote:Ok here's the thing I have B12 that is my POS car till I get my s14.5 done that's been down for a year...I'm new to the ca swap in the b12 and any fwd nissan for that matter as I didn't give a **** about this car till it started dying on me now when I need it most since my s14.5 is almost done...have pics of it by the way on myspace knoxdrftr if you feel like checking me....anyway I need to know what I need to swap the fwd ca18det? Either direct me to a link or something..as I would like to keep this beater around for a daily driver so I don't have to drive my baby all the time when she's done and if you look at the pics then you'll know what I'm talking about. Is it cost efficient to do this as well is my question..as I can't afford another "big money" project like my other car has been. Thank you. email is [email protected]
You'll need whatever mounts and brackets that fasten the engine and transmission to the chasis. You will need the pulsar's transmission, flywheel, bolts, starter, axles, clutch pedal and master cylinder, shifter and shifter rails. With wiring you have a choice of leaving your sentra the way it is and getting a RWD CA18DET harness and wire things in that way, or you can use the pulsar wiring and have an ecu eprommed by JWT (This method is the hardest and the most expensive, but that was the way I started out 9 years ago). If you have an 87 sentra, you will need the fuel tank from an 89-90 sentra or you can use the pulsar's tank. You will need to add a wire for the tank and a few other things that completely slipped my mind, but I can't think of. The easiest method, but expensive for most is to go standalone. Hope that helps a bit more....jgauspohl wrote:tell me what I need from the usdm pulsar twin cam 1.8....I found one.
