I'm considering having my A/C insulated with B-Quiet sound insulation.Have any of you guys done this, and how well does it really work. From the testimonials that I have read, it's "Amazing". But I have no experience with the products, and have never been in a car that has been insulated.

I did my doors first.. made a sight improvement...then I did my entire trunk, rear quarter panels and rear wheel wells... makes a HUGE difference!

I only did 1 layer of B Quiet ULtimate... may go back in finish the job with a layer of luxury liner in select places! Good luck!

Thanks for all the info, you guys are great !

I'm convinced I should do it, and found a place close to home that will do the installation. They will use Dynamat Extreme, or if I choose to use B-Quiet, they will install that also. All I need to do is bring them the B-Quiet product since they only have Dynamat Extreme in stock. Which is what they primarily use.

The person that I talked to quoted me a price of 300..That is for the doors, side panels, trunk, rear wheel wells.

Price includes material and labor. That sounds really good to me...

Sounds very good to me, because materials themselves take up a good chunk of the price.

Anyone know of a good place in the East Bay or South Bay Area?

Had my coupe done yesterday.Door, rear quarter panels, real wheel wells, and trunk.Made a pretty big difference and almost removed all horizontal noise. The only noise I really hear is the whine comming from the stock tires.

I'm looking for ways to reduce this. I'm wondering if I can use B-Quite or Dynamat Extreme on the outside of the wheel wells. Not sure if it's waterproof, but I was thinking that if I can stop the noise before it gets into the car, it may help alot.

I have some questions for those who installed it. How do you take off the carpeting? Does it come off easily? and is it hard to put the carpeting back on? Lastly, is 50ft gonna be enough, esp. when you cover every little spot?

would installing this insulation made the cabin more quiet from the sound of an exhaust? because having the greddy tic does make the cabin a bit loud for when i have other people in my car with me and we are driving for a long trip (without the silencers installed).

i would look into this because hey.. if i can get it quieter inside the car i could enjoy my music a little bit more.

any ideas?

carpet in trunk is pretty simple, just remove the tabs holding it in, remove the foam surrounding the spare tire, etc. For inside the cabin, you must remove your seats... vballer has a write up in the Altima A/V forum

yes, however, it seems counter productive to get an exhaust which is PRIMARILY for the sound, and then cover up the sound that you were seaking...

in any case, it will make the cabin quieter... to cover up the exhaust, I would use both vibrational sound deadener and sonic sound deadener... read this, it should give you all the help you need...

Sorry for the thread jack, but how much of the B-Quiet stuff would I need for my whole trunk? And how much for just the trunk lid?

Thanks

hmm. I would say ~ 20 - 25 sq ft for your entire trunk

5sq ft for your trunk lid

Thanks doc! I was assuming 20 sq ft for the trunk, using the dynamat website as a guide...
