Hi has anyone installed a B & M short shifter in a KA24E? I am looking inot purchassing one but i was lookin at phase2motortrend's website. and it says it makes noise at mid to high rpms. has anyone heard what the noise sounds like? i dont have any motor/ transmission mounts on my car so i am trying to get a idea on how loud the noise could be.If the noise was to out of hand then i was thinking about the pilot short shifter. Well any who can you guys help me out.thanks,Richard

Ask them..

I was thinking about getting a short shifter, but i've seen soo many people with short shifters that are always missing gears. I can shift pretty quick with my big stick!

I'd have to feel one because I always see people missing gears. I street race a lot. If I miss a gear I might make a WRX think he just beat a Turbo 240, it would hurt.

yea it would.....but the on phase2's website the b & m short shifter says common problem shifting into 5th gear from 2nd gear will be less evident or completely gone by using this shifter kit.damn i wish my 240 was turbo already

I dont see why it would fix it... If you are a good attentive driver you should have any problem shifting. This is just makes it more precise when on a track and rapidly up and downshifting.

the newer shifters still make noise just not as much...i talked with some b&m reps at d1 and they confirmed what i already suspected.......the shifter has so much attention to tightness of clearance that no matter what they do short of making it a longer throw it will make noise....just not as much......the vibration comes from the harmonics in the transmision so its not the shifters fault it just makes it audible....its cool with me i dont mind the noise i havent been in or around any race car that doesnt make some kind of noise like that because of tight tolerances......if you want quiet, get something else, if you want precision shifting whether you auto-x, drag, circuit, drift, or enjoy the precision of a race bred shifter go with the b&m
