Anyone know where I can get a good deal on this? optauto.com is selling it for $200 (shipping not included)

around that price is about as good as you're going to get it. I got mine for just about $220 shipped off ebay.

I sent Pilot Automotive an e-mail about their SS. This is the reply.

"Dear Andy: Pilot Automotive referred your e-mail on to our company. We can sell you the PM-313 for $125.99 plus shipping. If you would like to order this item you can call us toll free at 877-453-7697. Sincerely, LeRoy's Motorsport Accessory Center"

Is this a good price? If so, maybe I could ask if they would do a group discount.

125.99 for a B&M is a GREAT PRICE. there are places that sell it for almost twice as much.

No no, that's the price for a Pilot Automotive Short Shifter. Shoot, if that was the price for a B&M, everyone here would all over it.

i don't see a big deal why short shifter that would cost so much. $200 for something like that. probably production cost is like $15.

hmm...i'm sticking with my stock one, i rather spend the money on other area....but that's just me. ;)

i dunno, B&M shifters are so sexy though.... ive felt other short shifters and stock shifters and NOTHING compares. i think i might need to take a trip to an exotic car dealer to find something similar. it may be $200, but its like putting a ferrari shifter in a 240.

i dont know about you, but i hate ferrari shifters. Gated shifters belong on an Italian car, and should STAY there. Unless you have noticed a difference in the shifting (meaning that the B&M is shorter than the competition), i see no reason to spend more on it.

It's just a matter of preference. I prefer the short shifter. I went from stock, to a short shift adapter, to a short shifter. It feels a whole lot easier to shift and a whole lot smoother to boot. Has anyone tested both the P.A SS and the B&M SS? I want to hear some opinions before I make a decision.

i found one on ebay but the description calls for an SR20 powered machine, but the part number is 45088....i checked optauto.com and got a part number of 45088 also...should the one from ebay work on my car (non SR20)?

here's a link to both....

Hmmm, I would think that the B&M shifter should work with the KA's. Can anyone put truth to this?

The B&M's work with both the KA transmission and SR transmission. It bolts up to both transmissions without a hitch.

The B&M is awesome. It isn't really much shorter that stock, about half an inch, or an inch, but the Throw is incredibley short. A world of difference compared to stock.

I took a look at the B$M shifter, and i can see why they charge so much. Its got a hell of alot more parts to it than the others...

most shifters are just the shaft and some misc parts to make it fit in place of the stock one, reducing the throw and all, but with the B&M you get the entire shifter plate with their springs and mechanism inside, making it feel unlike anything else. its really well worth it. and i meant it feels almost as precise as a gated shifter while still being in a boot and all
