Enjuku I think still has deals on them...be prepared to listen to quite a bit of vibration from the unit, especially at around 6000 rpm in second....The performance makes it well worth it, however

B&M apparently has a revised edition which eliminates the noise. I will be calling them tomorrow to see if they are doing some sort of retro or buy/trade back on the 1st gens. I'm very pleased with the performance of the unit, but the noise gets irritating. I'll let everyone know tomorrow.

I have the revised one...and while it's MUCH better than the 1st gen ones I've heard, It's still noisy on the highway at 3300rpm.

I pulled the shift knob and it basically goes away, but there's still a slight buzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

My knob is a solid GREX, so it's not a loose part there...

Hehehehe...NO.

If B&M didn't do it when it first came out, and didn't accomplish it when they 'revised' it...I doubt you and I will figure out a solution.

It's really not bad UNLESS you're on a long trip and at cruising speed...under power it doesn't do it, and upon deceleration my exhaust is too loud, so I dunno...but while cruising, there's a slight buzz.

I called B&M today, spoke with JP. He said they are trading the old for the new. Call them for an RMA #, then remove your 1st gen B&M shifter and mail it to them. According to JP, B&M will then ship you a new "revised" unit. That's good customer service :) I'll be sending mine tomorrow. I'll give you an idea what I went through to assist in noise dampning on my 1st gen:

1) Taped lead around the counter weight neck.

2) Didn't use the supplied aluminum knob shifter ... that amplifies the noise.

3) Dipped the top half of the shifter in a liquified rubber solution.

4) Pressed small amounts of cork and Dynomat into the shift knob before installing on stem.

5) Made a cork gasket between the shifter plate and base, as well as inbetween the base and transmission.

Hehe, while some of that worked, it sure didn't make too much of a difference ... consider it an experiment ;) The problem is that I really love the shifter! So I gave up and put up with the noise and high-rev vibration. BTW, B&M's fix is not just one to the 2nd gen shifter; they made 5 changes to accomodate the noise and feedback.

I have a b&m shoft shifter, I never had a buzzing noise. But I'm going to sell the shifter because I like the way the factory one better. The b&m shifter is really good to, very short shifts and very percise.
