Well it was a straight forward install thanks to the excellent instruction by B&M. Going for a test drive, I'll post results when I get back. Oh yeah, and I have to modify my sig as well.....Whee!!!!

Man, even my wife loves it. IT feels solid, and goes into the gate with a good clunk. Not as loud as the shifter on teh Sentra SER but kinda like that. I can almost change gears just by flicking my wrist! 0 movement side to side while in gear and you have to apply pressure on it the shake it in neutral.

it hums between 2-3.5K RPM. They rattles like crazy when it gets about 5K. When I took the stocker out, there was harldy any gear oil in the shifter well/compartment. I'm going to have to take it off again and add about 2 quarts to it. (read that somewhere)

I know there is a fix for the rattlin by using a part from the stock shifter, but I have to find that post.

Gonna go take some pics and post them here as well.

This is a great mod to do first on your car. The shifter is one of the parts that you are always in contact with, therefore you will love it so much more.

Oh yeah, I bout it from Marty T, at http://www.injectedperformance.com, one of our sponsors. Fast shipping for only $179. Highly recommend them.

How does it it fair as far as accuracy goes? I know I had a TRD short shifter on my MR2, and it required extremely accurate movements... which was fine for daily driving actually, but when you get caught up in heel-to-toe and all that, the last thing you want to have to do is make sure your shifter goes into the correct location.

accuracy is spot-on. The only thing I have to adjust is the amount of force needed to move it to the next gate. It feels way more "solid" than the stocker.

I remember that thread you are talking about... where they cut out a section of the stock shifter and put it on the new one...

Not sure if it was for a B&M.. I think it was one of those Mugen short shifters.. Some type of group buy.

Tell us when you find it!

1. it feels more like bomb proof to me.Do you have the rattling issue? And if you fixed it, how did you do it?

2. I made 2 small videos using my digi cam that show the shifting movement and the rattling. Where can I upload these so I can post em here? I'll try emailing them to my gmail account, then post the lingks here.

well I just added a quart of gear oil. drove two block and it kinda sounds quiter. What I mean is that the humming at 3 K is quieter. Going back out for extended testing.

yep. I added some gear oil and now it's a bit quieter. Rattles now at 5500. I'm never up there so it's not that much of a hassle. The humming is what's driving me nuts thouhg. Guess I have to start focusing on a decetn stereo system to drown it out. hehe.

Ever notice how one "upgrade" leads to another?

It depends on the shift knob you have. If you have a heavier shift knob, you will be able to hear the humming better. For example, I have the Nismo leather shift knob and I can only hear the humming when I have my hand on the shifter and I am pushing on it. If both hands are on the wheel I can't hear the humming at all.

mine hums around 2.5-3.5k rpms... but other than that it's fine.. It doesn't rattle at all... did you make sure to put the rtv silicone or a gasket back on? maybe there's a difference from the s13 and s14... shoudln't be though, considering it's the same transmission and shifter..
