A couple quick questions.

Does the B&M come with a new gasket to replace the old one where it mates to the transmission?

Also are all 6 mount bolts the same length... I guess the previous owner (or shop that did the work) didnt want to mess with putting in the front 2 bolts. So I am going to just take one of the others out and find a replacement unless they are a different length up front.

Thanks

It does NOT come with gasket...I think most use RTV...just make sure you lay the shifter in place and take a peak from underneith to see how much the shifter hangs over the transmission because the base is slightly wider then the part of the transmission it bolts up to.The first time I put RTV around the outside of the plate, and compleatly missed the mateing surface between it and the transmission.

I *think* all the bolts are the same but really cant remember.

...or just put the RTV on the transmission and put the plate down over it?

all the same bolts. Either way with the RTV, just with the RTV it makes it difficult to take off the next time. I'd try getting some gasket paper and try prying off the old gasket then making one that way.

Thanks for the info. I will probably price a gasket from the dealer, but if it is too much $$ i will just RTV. Gonna go to the hardware store tomorrow and get the new bolts too. Shifter comes in Tuesday so I am gonna be swapping that and putting in redline MT-90, and doing my SS clutch line from SPL. Also going to change diff fluid to Redline 75w-90.

Thanks again

sorry to butt in People with B&M short shifters do you guys feel that it is hard to put into gear like from 1st to second quickshifting while the car is in motion. Also at a dead stop its hard to go in 1st and reverse. Its a sr red top with a new act street strip clutch kit installed when I put the sr in so I dont know if its the short shifter, clutch kit or transmission. Had a local shop do the complete install so I asked them about it and they said it was because of the short shifter.???? thanks

IIRC .. it was $10 for the paper gasket, but its special order.

i sometimes do notice that it is hard for me to get in gear. but then my clutch fluid is pretty dirty, so that maybe it?

Clean the b&m bottom plate, and the transmission surface, and use rtv. Stuff works great and will not leak. Feel free to be a little on the generous side when applying it. As far as it being difficult to put in gear, I have no issues at all. Smooth as stock.

Well I just went ahead and ordered the gasket and lower shift boot. $12 each

Couldnt find the right size bolt at home depot (8x1.25 25mm length) So i got them from the dealer too. $1.90 ea

Going to the dealership is such a love / hate relationship...I love being emmersed in everything Nissan while I am there, but hate paying their prices. Oh well. while I was there somone got quoted $960 to change belts, alignment, and wiper blades.

I guess I dont mind much paying to get good parts, because atleast I know I am saving a ton on labour.

yeah mine is hard to put into reverse. but it could be due to that my transmission leaks from some random place.
