I mentioned on another post that I ran across some Yokohama YK420 tires at "Discount Tires". It was then mentioned that you might have these on your Q. Do you have them and if so how do you like them? Thanks.

I have them, and I love 'em. I've just learned that they're a little noisier than Jed's Continental's (160 treadwear), but that may be because his car is perfectly aligned and mine is desperately in need of an alignment. Nice looking design, great in the rain, pretty sticky considering the longer treadwear rating, and even if I ditch 'em at half their life, they're a good deal.

Traction AA Temp A

E-me off-board if you need to.

Beauty, eh! I'm sold. The tread pattern looks more agressive than the POS Goodyear Eagle HPs that I have now. They're terrible in the rain and snow (fugedaboudit!). And being non directional, these Yokos they should last decently with rotations. $360 installed and balanced. $416 with their life replacement and balance program. Figures include taxes. I just wonder if they're a tire manufactured especially for "Discount Tires" and if that is the reason that Tire Rack doen't list them. The Yoko Intermediates are $84 at Discount and ~$56 at Tire Rack.

AZHitman pounded them for a deal. Beat 'em to death with Tire Rack quotes.

They are - I called Yokohama directly and they said they're ONLY made for Discount. Then I basically told them I wanted the tires.com price (and got a substantial discount off the "original" quote.)

I paid $500 (mounted and balanced) for mine (245/50/16).

What size are you getting?

I'm getting the stock size 215/60/15. So you went into the store and clubbed them with the Tires.com price? How much were you able to beat them down? They don't show the YK 420 but the Avids are ~$20 less than the store price. Hmmmm..... Thanks for the tip. Now if I can get my engine bogging problem rectified...
