The fluid was changed properly on the altima, and altima's aren't all slow. A first gen SE with a 5 speed is faster than the 89-90 5 speed 240sx's and is just as fast as the 91-98 5 speed 240sx's. The ka24de was only rated at 5 more horsepower. It is all a driver's race. Thanx for closing my thread, btw.

The new Alty 3.5 is a beast, however. I'd think twice before tangling with a good driver in a 5-speed 3.5.

It's quick, I don't know if I would call it "fast." But in either case, a 240 or a 1st or 2nd gen Alty is not fast *or* quick.

I dont call a 16 in the 1/4 fast at all. *gasp* im not sticking up for my car or engine sharing people. ever wonder why people swap their enigines or turbo the KA, its cause it has no power. its got enough to be peppy, and pass cars, but not enough to keep up with the big boys.

My 89 240 runs 17.1 in the qtr and thats with all the problems she has... Its is definately not quick car... Thats why my motor is gettng swapped with a DET... I maybe able to chirp 2nd all the time but doesn't mean the car has power... I take civics and celicas all the time... i even take mustangs off the line (<--- notice the off the line part).... they(KA's) just don't produce enough power to take you to the top... Jays 11.9 S14 that a different story...

the reason you can take cars off the line like that is cause of our rear end. even with 155 -160 ftlbs of torque, a 4.08 helps it get off the line semi-quick, but at the end of 1st going into second it just scuks.
