Got a question for you-Looking into getting a new computer for my 85T sometime in the future:

From what you have heard, are the benefits of the JWT ECU worth the $600?Or would you go with the MSD computer they offer for $500?

Also "Buy a different ECU. The stock ECU limits the RPMs to 6500. A JWT ECU moves the limit to 7000 RPMs." from your website...The VG motor's redline is at 6k- With the computer, would that number stay the same or would you be able to rev higer without damaging the motor with the new ECU?

Thanks in advance.-Kev

Depends on what your final goals are. The drop in JWT replacement ECU doesn't offer much of a benefit over the stock ECU. It doesn't do more than a couple HP difference at stock boost. However, it does allow you to run up to 14.5 psi while the stock ECU won't handle more than 12.5 psi.

JWT did extensive testing with the VG30 back in the day and decided Nissan was a little conservative in their redline (rightfully so). They feel the motor will rev to 7000 rpms with little to no damage.

Awesome thanks for the info.

What do you shift at when you're running yours hard?

When drag racing, about 6500.

Even with my NA, I've bounced the rev limiter a couple times.

1 last thing- In your walkthrough to modify the center-pod gagues, did you use the stock boost line for your aftermarket boost gague or did you run a new one and tap it somewhere?

Thanks!-Kevin

Edit: I looked around online, looks like the stock boost is ran on electricity, so thats not going to work. I still am not sure where to tap the line into, and since I have a vac / boost gague, I don't know where to run the lines. Is there a writeup somewhere for this or am I on my own?

Anywhere you can find a space for it. I chose the stock location. It's on the passenger side of the plenum. I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight and post. The most difficult part was routing the hose into the cabin without kinking or cutting it. But both my boost gauge and turbo timer run off the same source. The boost controller is on a different hole in the plenum.

Heh. How do you like that? I do have the pictures online already.http://www.netsnapshot.com/pcw...=1977

Pictures are at the bottom.

OK more problems, starting to go nuts

With the Autometer gague, I only recieved 1 adapter / ferrule / sealing nut (all of which are needed to attach the boost line to the back of the gauge...For me to tap into the manifold location you specidied, I would need another adapter / ferrule / sealing nut- Can I get these items from a hardware store or do I need to order them separetely? I got all of the hardare I am supposed to have, because since I have a vac AND boost gauge, I am supposed to tap a vacuum line and use the T-adapter, assumingly.

In the end, are there any vacuum lines that I can use the T adapter so I don't have to go get more hardware? If there is no easy way to do so, where do I get the extra needed materials to use the manifold location?

Thanks again for all your help,-Kev

Everything I have was done with parts from the plumbing aisle at Home Depot.
