I don't particularly like this seller's attitude "I'm giving you a gift here... this might or might not work" etc. - but at least cosmetically this Q looks pretty nice. Maybe the seller isn't as much of a jerk as they sound like in the ad - sometimes sarcasm doesn't translate well into the written word. If anyone is in the area it might be worth checking out this very early production 1990 Q with an $1800 reserve...

Is that the CHOCO brown interior - or black?

Strange gap between the good and fenders.... may be caused by the bra, but me thinks the bra is hiding poorly repaired damage from a prior accident!

There just has to be something dictating that 1800 dollar reserve, even if it did have some front end damage, that's still really cheap...

I think the hood is just open in the pictures, but there does appear to be a wrinkle on the right side near the crumple zone in front of the hood strut. That's the point where they usually bend with poorly oiled hinges.

Wish I was in the market for another car. Sounds like a great deal, the car looks like it is in pretty good shape and with such a low price.

I think the hood damage was indicated in the ad as typical for stuck hinge crumple. What a bummer!

Stop the presses.

Well, guys, I drove 65 miles round-trip (in a perfect Q:D) basically to go look at a "parts car".

The car in the above auction is not beige, it's silver with a silver interior. 3 Kumho 205/55/15's and one Fulda. Needs:Chain guideswindshieldhood (hinge stuck damage plus collision damage under bra)bumper cover (refinish, possibly replace) left headlight"4" emblem missing: Q_5?leather and paint is nice, lots of orange RTV around water pump, heads and valve covers...dent in LR doorwouldn't start (I had the keys)Most disturbing? The VIN plate was attached backwards... The bottoms of the numbers face the rear of the car... Hmmmmmm?

Right next to it was an IPQ 91 that looked a lot better (now also listed on eBay). The sales guy told me it was already sold (then I come home and see it on eBay). Anyway, this one had great paint and body, 166K miles, needs:left headlitetrunk leaks (badly) - lifted carpet and it's soakedstarts quick, horribly rough idle2 BALD (like slicks!) Michelin Pilots (LOL:D)Sales guy told me it had just sold for $3K (he's apparently ful of crap)

Not a bad deal for $1900 (IF the guides have been done). I couldn't tell. Also had lots of orange RTV on front of block...

Anyway, the guy who manages their internet sales was kind of a moron. "I used to own a Q - it was a POS." Says they're not gonna be buying and selling any more Infiniti's because they "break down the minute we sell them."

Anyway, there's the update from AZ. Enjoy!

VIN upside down? Nice. Any chance you could get "the law" to look into that?

65 miles round trip, 3 gallons, $10.00.

Errrr.... 65 miles R/T at 65-110mph = 4.7 gallons = $10.73.

Damn, Keith - You're pretty good at this math stuff. :D

I was wondering the same thing myself (about the VIN).

Did you notice if the VIN on the dash matched the door sticker and imprint on the firewall? Maybe the dash was replaced for some reason (like the accident) and tried to move the VIN plate?

No, I didn't think to look at that. I just noticed a crappy poprivet job (and the upside-down plate).

Sad looking excuse for a Q...

Note the discrepancies between my evaluation and the eBay ad (for the IPQ 91 Q). The 91 needs rescuing - Hopefully someone can save it from a misreable fate....

I hate idiots that put stuff on ebay and show pictures that are nothing like the car. It looked like a sweet deal from the pics I saw, obviously too good to be true I guess...

I don't think that they work in my car.. since I have an early 92.. the controls are on the door.. I heard that the 95's would have the controls on the seat

The 94;s at least ( and I am pretty sure they are identical with 95's) have the seat control on the door as well.

Only exception is one power lumbar feature on the seat a button I found by accident only.

I dont see why those seats shouldnt fit and fit well in your car.

You wouldnt have the armrest,

I am sure a good upholstery shop could make it work with yoru old armrest, but I sometimes feel its kinda in the way anyway.

I heard of someone shipping seats cheap via GREYHOUND - just an FYI. Not sure if thats true, cheap or workable ... just a tip to explore. Ive been trying to find a way to get Mustang Interiors across country for weeks - sans the rest of the car .. to no avail.

Good luck on that auction - thatd be a nice score
