no coilovers on that list? for an rb'ed s13? i would be tempted to think that there should be more suspension mods than struts/springs....

Finally got the car off of stands. The suspension is on, no coilovers yet but I am not going to be doing anything with it other than drive it on the street for now.

Here are some picks

Two quick points, coils asap imo, and definitely have a cage installed before final paint and body work, just makes sense to get the big stuff out of the way before the finishing touches.

I know I know... But I decided to work on my engine before suspension. Can you tell me the difference between coilovers vs springs anyway? And why should I get coilovers immediately? Sorry for the novice questions.

So you think I should install the cage before the bodykit & paint?

Coil-overs offer height adjustibility, stiffer spring rates and often control of dampening basically completely adjustable. Wearas, strut/spring combos have marginally stiffer spring rates then stock and usually offer a 1.5-1.8" drop without adjustability. While coils aren't always necessary on a fully built car adjustable dampening and height are valuable items. For instance, I doubt your Chargespeed aero will look good with all of the gap between the wheels and fender on only a 1.5" drop.

I would do the cage first, if it's a weld in cage it will be a-lot easier for whoever is doing it if they don't have to be overly cautious of the paint interior or exterior. If it's a bolt-in that you're planning like Cusco or something, I'd still want it first just to get it out of the way but never the less not nearly as much of hassle as a weld in or complete custom cage.

First off, you are the man DJ Button thanks for all your help and advice.Secondly, so if I get coilovers to replace my current suspension set up, do I need to get toe rods, upper control arms, etc... or will coilovers suffice?

depends on how serious you want to get. I would recommend getting coilovers with camber plates in the front, and RUCAs for the back so you can set your camber. Toe rods make things fun but they arent necessary on the street. Camber is, however... not because of "fitment" but because of your tires' contact patch with the road.

RUCA's??? Is that a particular brand?

And I want to eventually put this on a grip track. Not for another year though. What would be a couple of good brands, I looked online and saw a lot, but I do not know which are better quality. Since I am doing the car in stages, money is not as big of a deal cause if it costs more, than I will just save for longer, because it is not my daily driver and I can let the car sit in the shop while it is getting upgraded with out missing work or school.

Lol, just kidding, to each his on. I think it looks tight. I like both the popups and the silvia lights, but I figured why not. How many people in my city actually have a silvia front end on their 240??? I have only seen 1. The more rare the better I guess.

i dont know. i see a decent amount of them, and either way, just because something isnt seen much doesnt necessarily mean its cool. i just dont think a hatch and the sil front flow together at ALL. it really does look terrible to me, but hey, if you like it, more power to you.

i was thinking about do the whole sileighty thing but since I have seen the dedication of the pignose owners, and because it actually looks pretty cool I changed my mind. I still think sileighty's look cool though. BTW I live in Suprise so I might run into ya when I get back from the desert.

Gonna take more pics this weekend when I go back to the shop.

here is a pic of the turbo (I took it with my cell phone so it is not the best quality)

I will have more pics up after the weekend.

Sorry for not posting up last weekend, I was getting ready for school. Yay for week 1 readings . . . Anyway, the guy who is working on my car was in the process of starting the car, he was turning the engine over to get the oil to pump through the engine. Today should be the day that the Rb25 beast awakes ... I am stuck at work but my bro said he will record everything and take more pics, I should have the video and pics posted up by tomorrow. Again, sorry not keeping you all updated with pics and posts.
