Talk about a slim margin...
50.13% of voters approved Prop 203 which established Medical Marijuana in the state.

You say slim margin. I say mandate from the people that we should all be smoking. This is CLEARLY what the residents of the state want!

Sounds like Arizona has become infected with Californians. Hope this gets shot down soon.

I support it.

Yep. Crusty ol' conservative me.

Then again, I actually engage in policymaking for state government, and have cared for a loved one who wasted away from cancer and its treatments.

Here's some edumacation for anyone who cares to read up on it: http://www.azdhs.gov/prop203/index.htm

I will be involved in some aspect of developing criteria for licensing dispensaries, I'm sure...It's gonna be busy around here.

(Side note: The deeper into the planning / preparation phase we get, the more snarled and tangled the 'enforcement' responsibilities become. I feel sorry for the state's law enforcement and judiciary... unless we just go CA on it and turn a blind eye to personal use. It will be a clusterf*** to enforce.)

QFT.

The more strictly Arizona chooses to regulate marijuana dispenseries, the more blatant it becomes that Arizona condones the use of marijuana. The more blatant it becomes, the more the hand of the Federal Department of Justice is forced - possession of Marijuana is still a federal crime.

New Jersey is running into the same problem, but California, who doesn't really do much in the way of regulation, is not.

Yep.

And simply repeating, over and over, that it's ONLY for "approved conditions" is a weakly-veiled attempt to legitimize it, rather than simply being forthright: We don't have the resources to continue to criminalize this.

However, IMO, the Feds are the ones who need to revamp and revise. But I've said that before. ;)

Actually, I've never used / abused anything. I hate almost all medications. 6+ major surgeries, I usually forego painkillers upon discharge.

Tried THC once - didn't like it at all. Hate the smell (of course - it reminds me of unwashed liberal hippies). ;)
