Well I did it again, too much high rpm, high speed for the KA and it finally gave out.

Scratched crank, real messed up bearings and a frozen piston head for cylinder 3.

So my question is: Toga High Performance bearing combo? Site says 6,000 RPM or more, and high HP. With a high volume oil pump and the stock head gasket.. would I have or expect to see anymore scratched cranks/bearings?

Or if someone could point me in the direction of better bearings for my automatic 1990 240sx KA, I would appreciate it.

If you wanna go faster, swap in a new KA24E and a 5-speed to match...that'll get you MUCH further than any HP upgrades at this point.

Dont care for manual and I'm a little tired of always seeing "Oh performance, gotta have stick" Its a myth and I'm out to disprove it on the tracks, curves etc.

That said, if I had the money for a new ka, do you possibly think I'd be asking about bearings?

I want to know what my options are by way of performance upgrades so I have more fun with my KA24E Automatic, and not worry "OH no, kiss these bearing goodbye"

I apologize if I sound rude or offensive.

Sorry, it's not a myth. At a local road course, I was 3 seconds faster with the 5-speed in my car vs the auto...no other changes, and only 2 weeks apart. That's a HUGE difference on the track...

1/4 mile I was a full second faster...

You can do OK with an auto, but not be competitive.

That being said, the machine work on your crank plus new bearings will coast as much as a used KA24E...check here for your options:

I personally think its all about the skill of the driver.

I'm going to get a break on the labor etc.. so its not like some insanely expensive engine overhaul.

High volume oil pump and toga bearings and hopefully my KA24 wont break down from the high rpms. Or what about electric fans? I seen somewhere someone used altima elec fans or maybe even FAL twin 12inch fans?
