finally got my car back today after getting a stage 1 clutch put in. long story short. I broke down last week because of the bracket on passenger side broke causing my axle to come out of transmission causing me to have no movement. thought it was clutch but was really this bracket. anyway, before I broke down my car had this rubbing noise only when i had the gas pedal down. does anyone have any idea what this noise could be. I've checked everything underneath to see if my wheels were rubbing but couldn't find anything. I'm getting paranoid b/c it's still going on after my clutch and bracket replacement. could it be my axles are going bad or something wrong with my transmission? and also, isn't a stage 1 suppose to have a stiffer pedal feel? because mine is lighter than stock now. please help.__________________

You have a new clutch so we can discount clutch slippage. Sounds like an impending bearing failure. Check your belts and pulleys (respective bearing). Cracked/pitted belts must be replaced. Noise could also be coming from bearings within the alternator, compressor, etc.. You may need a mechanic's stethoscope (or improvise with a long screw driver) to pinpoint the problem.

I did check the alternator belt and it does need replacing b/c I saw a whole lot of cracks in the belt. That could be it. But It only makes the noise under load (when I'm moving) doesn't do it when I rev it up in neutral. Wonder why? Thanks for the info. I'm going back to the shop today to try and pinpoint the noise.
