Hi everyone

I have a 99 chilkoot pathfinder.

From what I gathered from the firewall my axle setting is HG46

I guess it means that I have a H233B in the rear, and a R200A in the front. I'am pre-2000 so I should have 31 splines.

Open diff got to go and I want to put some economical but effective replacement.

From what I know I can choose between ARB and Lockright for the rear.

Is there peoples here who run one or the other ??

For the Lockright they say the the strengh depend of the axle carrier. Some people say that nissan diff are stronger than almost anything else. Is that true?? Can I have problems with that ?

As for the front. I have difficulty findoing info on that. Is there a solution to lock front diff appart from the ARB .

I have manual locking hubs so I think that I can put mechanical locker without affecting steering. I am planning about 2 inches lift and tire not bigger than 31-32-33.

So I'm a little confused and I am looking for someone who go down that road before.

Thank you guys to help a newbie.

the HG46 means you have 4.636 gears (versus 4.363)... the 4.6 is better for the 32 or 33" tires that you plan on....

the only other air lcoker company i heard of is LOKKA and they are in australia, have not heard of anyone running a LOKKA in the states yet

Nico isn't really the best website for hardcore offroad information... im running open diffs so i couldn't help ya...

Try NPORA - http://npora.ipbhost.com

And the Australian R50 board PCOA = http://pcoa.org.au/forum/viewforum.php?f=19

Good luck

THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!!!!!

THERE WILL BE A LOCK-RIGHT LOCKER AVAILABLE FOR OUR TRUCKS SOON! Heres an email i recieved today from Stephen Lutz of http://www.ruggedrocksoffroad.com Quote »Lock-Right has offered a locker for Nissans for years, however it only fits the rear (H233B) axles of the 86.5 - 95 Pathfinders and '86.5 - '97 Hardbody Pickups. In 1998 Nissan upgraded the axle shafts in these trucks and went from a 31-spline axle shaft to a larger 33-spline axle shaft while keeping the rest of the H233B differential unchanged.I recently contacted Richmond Gear, the maker of Lock-Right, and spoke to them about the possibility of making the necessary changes for the Lock-Right to fit into the '98 - '04 H233B axles and fortunately, it was a project that was started a long time ago but never finished. As of right now, Richmond is digging up old files and reviving this old project and is realizing how simple it is for them to make a Lock-Right to fit the newer '98 - '04 Nissan trucks. Before long, 1998-2004 Pathfinders will be able to enjoy the benefits of a Lock-Right locker.[/quote] I asked how much... he said probably around $350 !!! Less than half the price of an ARB... there IS a god!!!!!

This is so great !!

I ask everyone in NICO and NPORA and this is the first time I heard that great news.

I hope there will be available soon.

Thank you FUELER for this info. Continue to keep forums up to date.
