So, very common issue. Axle shaft boot rips.

I have replaced them before on friends cars...Just happened to me so I have a question.I have to do BOTH, and I was wondering, should I also replace both tie rod ends seeing as they may have been strained during the daily drive time on my Max. The vehicle has a HARDCORE pull to the right when I drive above 30MPH.

Obviously needs an alignment after, but do I need the tie rods? Some guy at my work told me to do it, but honestly I don't want to spend the extra cash, and do the extra work if I don't have to.

Let me know all you Maxima guys. Thanks.

I would look at seeing if just a front end alignment will cure the issue. If the shop is good, they will let you know whether or not the TRE's need to be replaced.

Just a note, your signature pic is too big. I have made you a smaller sig that meets the 600 X 200 pixel requirements. You can use it from my hosting, or save and host it yourself. Your choice. Regardless, it's too big.

And its not a shop doing the work.I do all my own work. I was just asking in case anyone out there has had both bad boots and needed to replace the tie rods along with the axles.

Thanks for the sig pic.

I would not worry about them if the alignment works out.

And, your welcome!

The only way I would worry about them is if they have excessive play. If you take it to a shop to have it aligned, they SHOULD shake the front end down for any issues such as loose tie rod ends. If they don't shake it down first, I wouldn't be taking my car there anymore because they don't know wtf they're doing.

There isn't to much play, per-say, but its not very tight...Like, I drove my buddy's stock Mazdaspeed 6 last night and it blew my mind how tight the response was... Is that just because its new, and Mazdaspeed? Haha.

Again, doing all the work myself.Yes, EVEN the alignment. But thanks for the tip, I will shake it down and just inspect them. I just like to get the parts before hand so I can do it all in one shot and be done. That's why I was asking if anyone ever had to do it along with the axles.

Thanks alot.
