This is my first time working on an 09 CVT auto Cube we recently acquired. I replaced the axles and took it for a test drive and the left axle came out partially. I removed it and noticed that the keeper ring was basically flush with the axle surface. I replaced it with the original one and I belive that issue is solved. I tried so hard to get the seal to set flush with the outside of the housing. When I put the axle in it is driven to the inside of the housing.
So do I drive the seals all the way in?
Which is correct?
I have only found the seals sold by NAPA (the boxes say CR and SKF)12912 for the right seal and 15709 for the left.
Right now I have a steady drip just sitting in the garage from one side with a fresh seal.
