are you saying on the hub side or the side on the diff?if the hub side there should be a cotter pin that goes through the nut and axle if the diff side do you have locking washers?flatblackterror wrote:so i have an s13 with an rb swap. 300zxtt rear nuckles with the zx's brakes all the way around. anyway my problem is this my axles keep coming loose. i will tighten and torque them down and they will come loose if i give it to much gas. what are the torque specs for the axles? i cant understand the reason for this. i have searched SCC set up on project silvia and my set up is identical my only theory is that their not torqued to spec. please help!!
which part coming loose ? at the hUb or the diff ?flatblackterror wrote:so i have an s13 with an rb swap. 300zxtt rear nuckles with the zx's brakes all the way around. anyway my problem is this my axles keep coming loose. i will tighten and torque them down and they will come loose if i give it to much gas. what are the torque specs for the axles? i cant understand the reason for this. i have searched SCC set up on project silvia and my set up is identical my only theory is that their not torqued to spec. please help!!
it should not move at all. are you using the caps that go over the axle-nut ?flatblackterror wrote:it comes loose on the hub side the cotter pin and what not are in my co worker is suggesting that my torque specs are not right. the axle nut comes loose and the cv shaft can be pushed in slightly but its enough to make the car not go anywere kinda like its sliding out of the bearing
By the sounds of your issue this statement seems correct.mello88 wrote:YOU USED Z32 TURBO HUBS??? THAT WILL NOT WORK ON S13!
You need Z32 N/A hubs if you're trying to do a 5 lug swap. Z32 Turbo axles are larger diameter, so the turbo hub is a larger diameter. The turbo axles do not swap over. So you'll notice the s13 axles are much smaller diameter and don't even engage the splines correctly, nor do they mate because the Z32TT hub has a different spline count. Take everything off and start over, use Z32 N/A hubs this time. Do a little more research before your next upgrade....
alot of times i don't trust magazine headlines.flatblackterror wrote:i was going by sport compact and they use the z32 twin turbo hubs if i torque them down enough they work. everything sport compact has said about making it work i have and thats what i have done when torqued to 180ft/lbs it works as long as i dont go into high rpm's. spline counts the same by the way i made sure of that i work at a body shop and part time as a parts specialist.
You mean Z32 N/A hubs..BoostFab wrote:alot of times i don't trust magazine headlines.
you should save yourself additional headaches just go to the junk yard and get a set of q45 hubs or z32-tt hubs. get'r done!
